Our Values

At Langworthy Community Church, we base our whole outlook on
church life and our activities around the following 4 biblical values.

We believe the most important thing you can do in life is to have a friendship with Jesus. Someone asked Jesus what the greatest commandment was, and he said ‘love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and all your strength’. In everything we do in life we try to express our worship to Jesus, whether things we say, do, think or sing.

The rest of the above quote from Jesus says ‘love your neighbour as yourself’, and we are committed to building a community of friends who love God and love each other, and are always looking to help and encourage others. We tend to spend a lot of time eating together as part of our meetings, which helps us to build community.

Someone once said ‘the church is the only institution that exists for the benefit of it’s non-members’, and this is something we feel very strongly about. Our mission is to follow Jesus, and help others do the same. Our mission is expressed through friendships, social action, telling people the story of Jesus and how he has changed our lives, and in many other ways.

As followers of Jesus we’re called to be generous people, whether with our money, time or resources. As a church we love to be generous in giving to various projects around the world and our own neighbourhood in creative ways, such as child sponsorship, paying off people’s debts, providing food for asylum seekers and many other things.
